Topographical Surveys

A  topographical survey is the process of measuring both natural and man-made features on the ground. They are essential to construction projects, architectural designs, land conveyance and other private developments.

We use a combination of Leica Total Stations and GNSS (gps) equipment to supply a comprehensive topographical survey of the area agreed. This is then fixed to Ordnance Survey (OS) Datum or a local grid if required and published either in 2D or 3D DWG and PDF format using LSS dtm & AutoCAD packages.

Features we include as standard: the outline of existing buildings with ridge & eaves where possible; adjacent roads, top of kerbs and footpaths where applicable; boundary detail including walls, fences and hedges; trees including diameter, spread and height; changes in surface; overhead services; street furniture; manholes and inspection chambers with cover levels; extent of water lines; banks and mounds and a level grid at 10/15m intervals dependent on the slope of the site with suitable contours.

We are happy to survey any piece of land, however big or small, nationwide at competitive prices.
